quick question

im sure it is mentioned somewhere in the syllabus, but instead of reading it again, does anyone know if we need to know the tvm stuff for any other exams(excluding the final)?

All four exams will have math (calculation type problems). The first exam includes the TVM chapter and also the mortgage chapter. So, the first exam is probably heaviest in the calculation problem category (although only 30% of this exam was calculation problems).

The final exam is comprehensive, so these "math" oriented chapters are again fair game on the final. Exams 2 and 3 will have some calculation problems but not as much as the first exam. You can flip through the text to get a feel for the more calculation/math topics.

Please note that I put the TVM and mortgage chapters near the start of the semester intentionally. If you struggle with math/calculation problems, it is better to find out early in the semester rather than the end of the semester. I hope everyone does well on all types of problems but math is important in real estate (remember, Real Estate is part of the Finance department).
